Both folk and Attio promise the same thing: a modern CRM that doesn’t feel like Salesforce from 2008. They look similar from the outside. Inside, they’re built for two different kinds of team. Here’s the honest cut.
Pricing in Rs (October 2026)
Converted at Rs 96 per USD (mid-market rate on 23 October 2026, checked on x-rates.com). Billed yearly, per seat per month.

What each one is best at
folk is best when you work from email.
- The Gmail / Outlook / LinkedIn / WhatsApp sync is cleaner.
- Pipelines feel like simple cards, not database rows.
- The Chrome extension (folkX) pulls contacts from LinkedIn in one click.
- Good for solo founders, agencies and VCs who track warm networks.
Attio is best when you want a flexible database.
- Custom objects (not just contacts and deals - you can model anything: investors, portfolio companies, properties).
- Real-time contact enrichment that actually works.
- Reports and dashboards feel built for a real sales team.
- Good for 5-15 person startups that outgrow a spreadsheet.
The feature line-ups
| folk Standard | folk Premium | Attio Plus | Attio Pro | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pipelines | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Email sequences | No | Yes | No | Yes |
| API access | No | Yes | Limited | Full |
| Custom objects | No | Yes | 5 objects | 12 objects |
| AI enrichment | 500/mo | 1,000/mo | 500 credits | 1,000 credits |
| Contact limit | Unlimited | Unlimited | 250,000 | 1,000,000 |
Where they really differ:
- folk gives you unlimited contacts even on the cheapest plan. Attio caps you at 50,000 on Free, 250,000 on Plus.
- Attio gives you a free tier. folk doesn’t.
- folk does WhatsApp sync out of the box. Attio doesn’t.
- Attio does real custom data modelling. folk has it only on Premium.
When each one is wrong for you
- folk is wrong if you need a database with 5+ linked object types (deals, investors, properties, projects). It bends to fit, but you’ll outgrow it.
- Attio is wrong if your work is 80% email follow-ups. It wasn’t built for that; the inbox-first flow is weaker than folk’s.
- Both are wrong if you need a real sales team product with forecasting, quotas and a call dialler. For that, pick Pipedrive or HubSpot.
My pick
- Solo founder, agency, VC, headhunter: folk. Your work is 80% email + LinkedIn. folk makes that easy.
- Early sales team, product company, operations team: Attio. The free plan gets you going; upgrade once you need sequences.
- Just trying a CRM: start Attio Free. Zero risk. Switch to folk later if the inbox-first flow fits better.
